Animal rights group takes issue with B.C. city’s plans for Canada geese cull

Fears inhumane methods will be used

An animal rights group is taking action against a motion passed by Vernon, B.C. city council to cull between 100 and 150 Canada geese in the region. Animal Alliance of Canada says it fears inhumane methods will be used to kill the birds, adding the city lacks the political will to adopt a non-lethal approach to address the geese population. The group said it is prepared to help the city find a better way.
